“Those Days, That Promise is a nostalgic and deeply emotional story about friendship that shapes our lives. It follows the Last Bench gang, a group bound by laughter, secrets, and unspoken loyalty that began on the very first day of school.
Told with warmth, humour, and deep nostalgia, Those Days, That Promise explores how childhood bonds endure long after time and circumstances try to erase them, and leaves readers with a simple, powerful question:
“Is friendship measured by the years you share, or by the promises you keep?”
“I write about ordinary lives, missed moments, and what we carry forward, often without realising it at the time.”
AAnand Soni is a finance leader by profession and a storyteller at heart. A Chartered Accountant and a Company Secretary, he has spent nearly two decades driving financial strategy and performance, having grown up in Ahmedabad while now calling Hyderabad as his home. Yet, behind the numbers, AAnand finds inspiration in the simple yet profound emotions that shape people, friendship, dreams, and the unique innocence of youth..
Those Days, That Promise is his debut novel, inspired by the charm of growing up in India. Through his simple, heartfelt writing, AAnand captures the laughter, nostalgia, and innocence of youth, reminding readers of a time when life was uncomplicated, and happiness came easily.
